The 2018 Jeep Cherokee provides a smooth ride with its V-6 engine releasing an effortless acceleration. 

 

The nine-speed automatic comes with a start/stop system which shuts the engine down when the vehicle comes to a complete stop, with the option of a button that disables this feature on the center stack. Also, this 271-horsepower V-6 engine allows the SUV to get up to speed quickly and can tow up to 4,500 pounds. 

 

 

 

 

Following a record-setting year with the introduction of the limited-production Dodge Challenger SRT Demon – the quickest, fastest and most powerful muscle car ever – Dodge//SRT is going back to its muscle car roots by taking its biggest, most powerful engine – the supercharged HEMI® Demon V-8 – and leveraging its enormous power output to boost the performance of the Hellcat. The result: the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI high-output V-8 engine rated at 797 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.
 

FCA powertrain engineers have initiated their goals of constructing an engine that delivers more efficient energy while using less performance strength, and they now have the appropriate material to begin with. 

 

Drastic discoveries made by FCA are due to a current research effort with Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and casting supplier Nemak. They have found an aluminum alloy that can tolerate high heat up to 300 degrees Celsius (572 degrees Fahrenheit).

 

Dodge, part of Auburn Hills-based FCA, announced this past May that they are planning on extending their police vehicle lineup with the addition of a new 2018 Pursuit model of the Dodge Durango.
