A lot can change in five years — this is something Josh Burkhardt, also known as “Tex," is very familiar with as he celebrates his five-year anniversary at O'Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

The most notable difference between Tex’s first day on the job and today is that he now has three children. Fittingly, the O'Daniel family mindset is his favorite thing about working for the company.

As far as his position in sales, Tex relayed that what he enjoys most is an answer common among many others in the industry: Getting to meet new people every day who have a variety of different lives and knowledge.

“I have the opportunity to help them solve unique problems to their situations,” Tex said. “No one day is the same!”

With a knack for talking to people and helping others, joining the sales industry was a natural fit. But as a welder/products installer for a petroleum company, Tex had never pictured himself selling cars.

However, meeting the management team at The O’Daniel Automotive Group changed his mind.

“I knew there was a difference with this dealership and gave it a shot,” Tex said. “Shortly after I learned that I was correct and have not looked back since! I am happy with my employer and look forward to growing and developing together!”

After five years of working at O’Daniel CDJR, Tex said he has developed a work style that is informative and no-pressure. His goal is to help his guest find a vehicle in a time frame that works for them that fits both their needs and budget. If he accomplishes these things he knows he has a good chance of ending up with a repeat customer that sends referrals.

While Tex is always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy his customers, there is one thing he will never sacrifice to make any sale  his integrity. A value he learned from his father.

“I look up to my dad, he raised me in the truth of Christ and taught me the value of personal integrity. To invest time improving yourself so that you can better help others,” Tex said. “Also, how to show love to your family and friends.”

In addition to his integrity, Tex considers a positive attitude to be his strongest asset. He said embracing a positive lifestyle has the power to change the outcome of everything around you.

We hope Tex’s positive attitude will continue to help him succeed at O’Daniel CDJR for many more years to come!
