Recently, the women's and family magazine Good Housekeeping released a list of Best Family Cars in collaboration with the automobile magazine Car and Driver. Notably, in the category for Best Full-size SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L won. The Good Housekeeping Institute (GHI) worked with Car and Driver to screen hundreds of new vehicles and to identify the top makes and models for 2022 based on six categories: safety, value, handling, interior design, comfort and onboard technology. This consisted of analyzing the various features on each car, including the ease of folding seats, storage and cargo space, as well as the fit and installation of child safety seats. This recent award demonstrates that Jeep continues to strive to make their cars as perfect as possible; the fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV ever.
One exceptionally bright spot in the Grand Cherokee L is its comfort. As it has an extended wheelbase as compared to the regular Grand Cherokee, there is plenty of space for both cargo and passengers in the spacious third row of seats. Rather than being forced into a small third row, all passengers in a Grand Cherokee L can rest easy knowing that they will have plenty of legroom.
The infotainment system on the Grand Cherokee L is also designed with the passenger's wants and needs in mind. A 10.1-inch infotainment display controls vehicle features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio as standard. A pair of rear facing displays also are available for second row passengers.
Modern technology is also evident in the Grand Cherokee's safety mechanisms. Key safety features include automated emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control, all of which come as standard. With such a focus on safety, comfort, and ease of use, it's easy to see why reviewers find the Jeep Grand Cherokee L a good fit for families.
