Around the Second World War, the Willys Jeep was used by American soldiers on some of the toughest terrain in the world. Since then, Jeep has continued to build the Wrangler to give civilians the same off-road capability. For 2022, Jeep has decided to go a step further and offer one of its most hardcore off-road models yet: the Wrangler Willys featuring the Xtreme Recon Package. This trim level was announced at the 2021 Detroit 4Fest.

The off-roading community is one that puts performance first and foremost, and is passionate about modding cars and trucks to get their full potential. With this model, Jeep takes out the customer’s effort, and provides a trail-ready package for drivers to explore the most demanding terrain on offer. For a retail price of $39,435 (plus a $1,495 destination fee), buyers can drive one of the toughest SUVs out there. This Jeep is built to provide best-in-class water fording capability, ground clearance, approach angle, and departure angle, and it has the hardware to prove it. Specifications include a 1.5 inch factory suspension lift, anti-lock four wheel disc performance brakes, swing gate reinforcement, and BF Goodrich all-terrain tires, among others.

On the outside, there are plenty of aesthetic enhancements to show any passerby that this is no ordinary Jeep. Black “Jeep," "Trail-rated," and “Willys" badges all come together to create an air of toughness and classic Jeep style.

Jeep has come a long way since its founding in 1943. Now transitioned away from the military market, it now builds some of the most luxurious and technologically advanced SUVs and trucks on the planet. However, this is a brand that likes to stick to its heritage. Alongside the leather seats and electric screens, Jeep still recognizes the importance of its Wrangler, and its variants that provide consumers with an off-road-ready experience. For those who prioritize performance and ruggedness above all, the 2022 Wranger Willys with the Xtreme Recon Package is a top choice.
