FOUR WHEELER judges evaluated new models from several manufacturers, eventually determining the Ram 1500 TRX as the unbeatable choice among competitors. FOUR WHEELER’s judges conducted several tests over the course of a week to determine the winner of this outstanding award. Staff from various 4x4 media brands including FOUR WHEELER, 4-WHEEL & OFF-ROAD, as well as JP MAGAZINE made up the judging panel. The variety of tests conducted spanned more than 1,000 miles of varied terrain, including pavement, gravel, dirt, sand, rocks, mud, and snow. Testing also included water crossings and a loose-dirt hillclimb. To gauge each vehicle’s lighting equipment, judges went a step further to integrate night driving into the competition.
FOUR WHEELER’s “Pickup Truck of the Year” award event is open to all-new or significantly revised pickup trucks for the upcoming model year. The invitation-only competition is now in its 32nd consecutive year and features some of the most exciting pickup trucks available.
