In 1962, the Wagoneer emerged in America for the 1963 model year. It left a memorable footprint as it pioneered the first modern SUV.  As the first four-wheel-drive vehicle paired to an automatic transmission, it featured premium interior, style, and state-of-the-art ride quality.

This year, the historic American icon is making an epic comeback with the launch of the all-new Grand Wagoneer Concept. The Wagoneer, undeniably rooted in the unmatched heritage of the Jeep brand – will be Jeep’s premium extension.

Its return will redefine the standard “American Premium” with its leading-edge features and technology meticulously crafted for unprecedented customer experience.

·       Exterior Craftsmanship and Heritage

The Grand Wagoneer Concept encapsulates the future with its stunning, ultra-premium and timeless exterior. Its design is anchored by a prominent Obsidian black-accented grille that features Jeep’s iconic seven slots. Intricate lightweight latticework is highlighted in each slot, and the space above and between each of the slots is lit – creating a signature LED design that forms an elegant outline.

The Wagoneer also has a full suite of exterior LED lights that enable it to shine in any environment. This includes premium LED headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps. It also features a full-pane glass roof that admits natural light and expands the vehicle’s interior space.

Everything about the Wagoneer’s exterior spells out elegance.

·       Grand and Technology-Rich Interior

A first for the Grand Wagoneer nameplate, it will now feature a spacious third row. Large glass windows further enhance the spaciousness of the interior as it offers greenhouse-like views.

In the cabin, an onyx glass mid-bolster runs through the instrument panel. It also features full suede headliner, premium carpets, upholstered door, console, seating, and panel surfaces.

To elevate the passenger experience, mind-blowing technology were incorporated. It comes with a 12.3 inch driver information display, and a first-ever 10.25 inch passenger screen in an SUV. Not to mention, it has the only vehicle audio system in the world that is powered by McIntosh.

The interior elements like the two-spoke steering wheel also pay tribute to the rich heritage of the original Wagoneer. As a new twist on the original Wagoneer’s iconic usage of wood on the exterior, this time a vast amount of genuine heat-treated lacewood are used along the Grand Wagoneer Concept’s interior.

·       Premium Electric-Vehicle Technology

In line with Jeep’s mission to become the leader in eco-friendly technology, the Grand Wagoneer Concepts comes with a no-compromise plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain system. These will be the most efficient and responsible Jeep vehicles.

It even promises greater torque and immediate engine response to offer more capability off-road and elevated driving experience on the road.

Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer production vehicles will be built in metro Detroit in 2021 – to redefine what an ultimate premium SUV can be.
