This past Super Bowl game that aired on February 4th had many commercials to offer between breaks, but the Jeep car company decided to involve dinosaurs in theirs — much to joy of Jurassic fans everywhere.
More specifically, Jeep collaborated with “Jurassic World,” Director Colin Trevorrow in order to showcase the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler, and its advanced features.
Since a Jeep Wrangler was originally used in the first movie, “Jurassic Park,” it was decided to reveal the newest model in the same setting.
Not only was the Jeep Wrangler in the same location, but they used the same actor in this 60-second commercial. Jeff Goldblum, who played Ian Malcom, was in the back of the Jeep Wrangler in the first scene.
This commercial was titled, “Jeep Jurassic,” and had a transitional effect from the starting original “Jurassic Park” scene with the Jeep Wrangler speeding away from a Tyrannosaurus rex, and jumped 25 years showing the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

A loud roar occurs along with the future transition, and Goldblum is seating in the driver’s seat instead of the back. The final scene ends with him in the Jeep, inside of a Jeep car dealership discussing his test drive with a car dealer.
Throughout the commercial, new features are revealed such as the fourth-generation Uconnect navigation system. If you look closely, the fictional island, Isla Nublar is shown on the GPS screen, advertising “Jurassic Park,” and the technological advancements in Jeep’s newest model.
The timing was right for this commercial due to the millions of viewers from the big game, and the Jeep designers and Trevorrow incorporated the Jurassic theme nicely from the past to present.
Not only is the 2018 Jeep Wrangler up-to-date, but the next movie in the Jurassic series, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” will be premiering in U.S. theaters this upcoming summer on June 22, 2018.
