Congratulations to business manager, Shaylene Shaw, for another successful year at O’Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
Despite having worked at O’Daniel Automotive for ten years, Shaw feels that every day is a new learning experience.
“I am a firm believer that each of us learns something more than they did the day before,” Shaw told us.
After working in finance for many years, Shaw cited her strongest asset at work as knowledge. She said her years of work experience have allowed her to build strong relationships with lenders and adapt to the many changes that occur in the automotive line of work.
Shaw enjoys working in the car industry because she likes the dynamics of meeting new people—every customer and transaction is different from the last.
To succeed in the car business, Shaylene feels you need two things: determination and self-discipline. When it comes to the car business, you are either all in or all out, according to Shaw.
“A lot of your success depends on you, your work ethic, and wanting to grow.”
Shaw described her work style as friendly and revealed that she always does her best to provide top-notch customer service. She feels privileged to be able to meet new customers every day.
While Shaw hopes to stay with the O’Daniel family for a very long time, her ultimate dream is to own a small bake shop. She is inspired by her grandmother who baked and would give out her goods as gifts, which everyone looked forward too.
Shaw described her grandmother as her hero and the person she has admired most for her kindness.
“If you were hungry she would feed you, house you, teach you,” Shaw said. “She was so giving and had a heart bigger than I can describe. I hope that one day I can be half the person she was. That is what I strive for.”
Happy anniversary, Shaylene — and to many more!
