Dodge has introduced the fastest and most powerful sedan in the world to their collection of ultimate performance models.
“The new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody completes our strongest Dodge muscle car lineup in history,” said Tim Kuniskis, chief executive officer of Dodge.
The 2018 Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody includes a number of performance upgrades such as improved lap times, lateral grip, acceleration and braking.
New standard electric power steering is a first for the Hellcat, offering selectable steering tuning to help manage the increased grip due to upgraded acceleration and handling performance. The feature allows drivers to customize their horsepower, transmission shift speeds, steering, paddle shifters, traction and suspension for their own preference.
The Hellcat comes equipped with the proven 707-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine and new 20 x 11-inch “Devil’s Rim” split-five spoke aluminum wheels to add grip.
“Our brand, engineering and design teams poured a ton of effort into making the new SRT Demon the world’s fastest quarter-mile production car, so now we’re leveraging that know-how, and some of those vital elements and transferring them to the new Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody for improved performance on the street and a bolder, more aggressive new look,” Kuniskis said.
Wide body fender flares add 3.5 inches to the width of the car, making it one of the widest Challengers ever. Adding to the new, aggressive design are Hellcat-exclusive grille and fender badges and a raised SRT Hellcat badge on the rear spoiler.
Another Hellcat-exclusive is the illuminated Air-Catcher headlamps which feed air straight to the air box and engine bay through the center of the parking lamps.
The 2018 Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody is set to open for dealer orders in July with deliveries to Dodge/SRT dealerships in the third quarter.
