Fresh powder out on the slopes? Forget the skis and hop into the first ever American muscle car with AWD, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT. Arriving in the first quarter of 2017 the new Challenger will bring unparalleled performance and precision in less than optimal driving conditions.

Roaring into the starting lineup with Dodge’s 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine it races with 305 hp at 6,350 rpm along with a quite fair 268 lb.-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. The AWD system comes courtesy of its next of kin, the Dodge Charger. With an active transfer case and front-axle disconnect, it uses Vehicle Dynamic Control and Electronic Stability Control features to bring improved functionality across all weather conditions.

Bringing 1971 back the Dodge team used retro muscle cars as inspiration while designing the exterior and interior of the 2017 Challenger GT. Keeping to classic American muscle car stylings, it features a split grille and the distinct, functional bulge hood muscle cars are known for. The team used light to bring it to the 21st century, featuring crisp LED Halo headlamps, LED tail lamps, and projector beam fog lamps. To help with parking it includes ParkSense rear park assist, and a Parkview rear back up camera.

On the inside, the Challenger receives many standard amenities. For when one is driving in those frigid temperatures it includes heated (and ventilated) front seats along with a heated steering wheel. If one is lonely on that frigid trip the Challenger also includes a 8.4 inch Uconnect display that caters to both Apple and Android users. The interior seating is also wrapped in Nappa leather to ensure you’re in the lap of luxury.

All in all, the team at Dodge has done a tremendous job bringing us the first and only American muscle car with an All Wheel Drive system. For those who have a penchant for American styled coupes and want to conquer all roads, regardless of conditions, the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT fits the bill.
