“We not only sell products, but we are also making memories that last a lifetime.” Justin Harding’s positive outlook towards his job and customers at O’Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) is what has driven him from day one to now—celebrating 15 years with the O’Daniel Automotive Group.
Harding explained his earlier jobs in moving services and construction, but settled down with CDJR because he found a home with the company. He reminisces: “After my interview with Greg O’Daniel, I knew I was at the right dealership, and never looked back.” While the dealership is filled with many impressive employees, Harding brings experience to the table.
Not only has he spent 15 years in the company, but early on he sought out advice from the oldest salesman in the company. Still today he leans on his coworkers for support and assistance, including his inspiration, Craig Ruskaup. When Harding and Ruskaup were on the sales team together, Ruskaup was healthy competition and “the guy to beat.” As Ruskaup moved up to the role of Sales Director, he pushed Harding, knowing that he’s capable of great work and still serves as a role model to many in the company.
This push, experience, and the company have helped Harding create memories both for him and customers. His favorite memory was bringing a brand new car to a restaurant as a surprise for a 16 year-old new driver. “When the young man walked out,” Harding remembers, “I handed him the keys to his new Wrangler. His mouth was hanging open and he was speechless. The entire family was there; some were laughing, some were crying.”
These moments with customers have a special place in Harding’s heart and mind. Harding proudly states, “Take care of your friends/customers and they will take care of you for the rest of your life.”
