SUV and minivan owners from various demographics were gathered to tell Pacifica engineers the dirtiest spots in their cars. It was determined that the dirtiest spot was the second row on the driver’s side. Therefore, the new Stow ‘n Vac was placed on the left C-pillar of the 2017 Pacifica.
Gagan Mann, senior manager of electromechanical engineering, said, “It shouldn’t be a process to clean. You don’t have to go in the trunk to access the Stow ‘n Vac. It’s so easy, it’s like opening and closing the doors — you don’t think about it. Pull it out, quickly clean up and done.” Mann also experimented with the Stow ‘n Vac by spreading dog hair, sand, and cereal throughout the cabin to see if the vacuum would be able to clean up the mess. The Stow ‘n Vac’s performance has been perfected to pick up all, and more, of the mentioned materials.
The Stow ‘n Vac can also be used in different temperature conditions such as, very hot or cold temperatures.
