Coming around the bend of 2016, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicle owners will enjoy a welcomed update to their Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen. 2016 model-year vehicles will be receiving the following big updates: Do Not Disturb, Siri Eyes Free, SiriusXM Tune Start, Drag and Drop menu bar, and a digital Vehicle User Guide.
Both Do Not Disturb and Siri Eyes Free will make it easier and safer for drivers to answer calls, reply to text messages, and get directions. Do Not Disturb will allow motorists undisturbed driving by stopping notifications, calls, and alerts while having the option of replying with preset messages. Siri Eyes Free will allow drivers to use their voice and iPhone (4s and above) to their very best by using the voice button on the steering wheel; you will be able to make calls, send text messages, get directions, and even play that song that’s been stuck in your head.
Speaking of music, 2016 and 2017 model-year vehicles will also be getting the SiriusXM Tune Start feature. This feature is a nifty update that will start songs from the first beat when drivers switch between their favorite satellite radio channels to ensure you’ll be able to sing along with Beyoncé from the get go.
Vehicle owners will also have the freedom of customizing their Uconnect touchscreen menu with the new Drag and Drop menu bar feature. The feature will allow you to customize your most used features and services and have them at your fingertips.
Last but not least, the 2016 Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Chrysler 300 will be inaugurating the Vehicle User Guide, which will allow motorists to access their respective owner’s manual and get information on the specifics of their vehicle.
Along with these new features, all Uconnect 8.4-inch systems in the above-mentioned vehicles also received tailored adjustments for 2016. New software and voice recognition algorithms have been designed to improve the system’s efficiency as well as voice recognition articulation, calculation of navigation routes, and the search and playing of songs.
These new updates will add more convenience and comfort from the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen systems.
