If you're planning on running your Jeep hard, or even just putting on regular mileage and wear-and-tear, O'Daniel Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Ram wants you to know it's important to stick to a regular service schedule to ensure your Jeep Wrangler, Cherokee or Renegade continues to run smoothly and has a long life.
In fact, O'Daniel has a recommended schedule of service. After your Jeep's first six months or 8,000 miles, whichever comes first, be sure to change the oil and engine oil filter, and rotate the tires (rotate at the first sign of irregular wear, even if it occurs before 8,000 miles. Then, once your Jeep reaches its first birthday (12 months) or hits 16,000 miles (again, whichever comes first), be sure to bring it in for the following:
- Change engine oil and oil filter
- Rotate the fires
- If driving your Jeep in dusty or off-road conditions, inspect the engine air cleaner filter and replace if necessary
- Replace the air conditioning filter
- Inspect the brake linings; replace if necessary
- Inspect exhaust system
- Inspect the front suspension, tie rods and boot seals for cracks or leaks and all parts for damage, wear, improper looseness or end play; replace as necessary
Once you've driven your Jeep for a good year or more, your mechanic can recommend a longer term maintenance schedule based on how and it what conditions you drive.
