Prior to his 25 years with the O’Daniel Automotive Group, Dave began his working life as a financier, but that changed in 1973. A friend of his saw potential in him and gave him an opportunity on the sales floor. Gaining much knowledge and experience from that opportunity, he eventually found his way to O’Daniel CDJR. Some would say it was luck, but Dave’s faith in God says otherwise. Throughout his life, he has been positively influenced by the word of God and draws inspiration from his faith. Another influence of Dave’s has been the owners of the O’Daniel Group themselves; having known them for years, he sees them in high regards and is continuously impressed by their dedication and hard work towards the company, and community.
One of the things he has found challenging throughout the years is the rapid advancement of technology. He joked that his grandchildren knew how to use smart phones better than him, but with concentrated effort he’s become comfortable with all the new technology related to his job. What really drives Dave in this profession, are the interactions and relationships he builds with his clients— there are multiple families who he’s enjoyed the pleasure of assisting through three or more generations.
In closing, Dave Phillips has been a model employee throughout his 25 years with O’Daniel CDJR. We honor his loyalty with the company and wish him well in his retirement.
