We certainly hope so. At O'Daniel Motor Sales, we've always believed that there's no reason luxury and fuel-efficiency have to be at odds with one another. It looks like Chrysler may back us up in a big way as they are currently discussing adding a diesel Chrysler 300 to their lineup.
We should be clear that this possible model wouldn't be available in the US for some time. At the moment, the concept hasn't made it passed the discussion phase. However, the perspective move wouldn't come totally out of left-field as a diesel 300 is already available to drivers in the European market.
In conjunction with the fact that US drivers have responded very well to the diesel-powered RAM 1500 and the EcoDiesel Jeep Grand Cherokee, it makes perfect sense for Chrysler to consider greening up their luxury sedan.
Other manufacturers in the same segment have also done well with diesel offerings due to their increased power and better gas mileage. Given that the 300 already gets 31 mpg on the highway, we could be looking at some serious savings. Needless to say, we're really hoping that Chrysler jumps on board, but it seems as though we'll have to be patient for the time being.
If you're not graced with that virtue, we couldn't blame you in the least. In fact, we can even help. Make your way down to our new Chrysler dealership here in Fort Wayne, IN, and we can get you out on the road in a gas-powered 300 today.
