Jeep enthusiast rejoice! The Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah was a huge success! This annual event brings together Jeep lovers from all over North America to show off their rides and Jeep itself gets in on the action as well to show off concept Jeeps and features.
Many of these super Jeeps are modified using after market Mopar
parts so you might not see them in the O'Daniel Motor Sales showroom soon but if you go to the event, you can get a peek at some technology that will likely be available in future Jeep models.
The Jeep Wrangler, for example.
At the event you could check out the specialized Stitch edition which maintains the same look and feel of the Wrangler but it is approximately 1,100 pounds lighter. The next generation Wrangler will most likely end up adopting this lighter profile to increase efficiency.
Next to shedding some pounds for efficiency, a more aerodynamic body will be adapted to decrease wind resistance, further adding to fuel efficiency. The Wrangler Slim concept can assist in that regard. This version of the Wrangler has a faired front bumper, which will also improve the riding experience of the utility vehicle.
Lastly there may also be a diesel Wrangler. This option is currently being applied to the Grand Cherokee to test the American market before diesel options are available on all new
Jeep vehicles.
