The 2013 Easter Jeep Safari is heating up, and our favorite brand has brought six amazing concept vehicles with special off-roading properties to the event. Here are two of our favorites:
The Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper II follows the Wrangler Sand Trooper (I) that the Jeep brand brought to the SEMA event last year, and the second version is even more rugged than the previous model. Though it contains the same 375-hp 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine as the previous model, it achieves extra ground clearance thanks to its eight-lug front and rear portal axles. The tires have shrunk a bit, from 42 to 40 inches. Features include LED off-road lights, rock rails, a satin black grille, rear and front window kits, leather seating, a trunk storage box, and more unique touches.
Another concept model is the Jeep Wrangler Mopar Recon. It features a 6.4-liter HEMI engine that produces 470-hp which works with a five-speed automatic transmission and 60 front and rear axles with 4.10 gearing. These are attaches to a 4.5 inch prototype lift kit and rides on large 39-inch tires. The exterior has been modified by Mopar and now features front and rear "Stinger" bumpers, a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary hood, a canvas soft top, LED headlights, seats made from Navy camouflage and blankets, and tons of other special features.
